Anybody think that funerals are stupid?

Seriously, who wants to spend half their day listening to some priest or rabbi ramble on about how "John was a good man, loved by all" and then hear those eulogies spouted by hysterical friends or family? Why can't all corpses just be vaporized upon their death and that any condolences can be expressed thru a phone call or something? My mother joked about her being "thrown to the sharks" after her death; that's not a bad idea.
