Does a stolen car get towed if found and parked legally?

If your car is stolen and then is found, but the car is not parked illegally, does it still get towed? Let's say for example that somebody steals your car and then parks it on some street normally, and then the police find it, do they tow the car or do they simply call you to pick it up? I'm asking for how it is in California (Oakland in specific I suppose). Thanks...:)
