Spending too much money for college?

Hii, well basicly just started 6th form college, and today was my first day there, it was an ok day. Everthing just kicked in, that am going up in to the big wide world and i feel really scared. Also i have been doing a lot of shopping for 6th form and i feel really guilty and i still need to buy more stuff. And i feel real guilty because everyone in my house is skint and are stugglying to buy them self nice things so i don't want to ask them. And i am trying to find a job so i can pay for my own things but at this moment i just feel that people seem to think that college is more about what you wear then anything else. And i just want to go to college put my head down and do my work but i don't want people to think am a tramp and don't have any clothes. I just want to know if there is anyone else out there feeling like this too? And if anyone could give me any good advise or say something so that i don't feel as guilty, Thank You
