i think the buddy thing on the internet is pretty normal. he's obviously into u enough that he doesn't feel the need to constantly flirt and express his feelings. He's trusting you to know how he feels. if u really wanna try to distance a little, i don't think it's wise because it's kinda like playing games. however, if u do choose to distance, be careful not to give him the wrong idea.
