Your girlfriend has some serious self esteem problems. She does not need to be in a relationship right now with anyone but herself and that needs to improve ASAP. Her new "boyfriend" needs to stay in Australia or wherever he came from and leave her alone. He sounds like a addict, irresponsible and a pathological liar. He obviously does not love her or he would come to see how she is doing in the hospital since money is not an issue with him. He is basically, an ***. This is a prime example of the emotional effects of premarital on young and impressionable females who are in love with being in love, confuse with love and know nothing about predatory males, independence or taking responsibility for ones own destiny,. As her friend, you must reure her that you are there for her and she is a very important person who does not need to be validated by a male and that no guy, regardless of where he is from, how many toys he has, how he looks or how "good" he is in a bed is now or will ever be worth her self esteem or her life.
