Montreal or Toronto are the "real" hockey towns. Detroit just trademarked the term, that's all. True?

Detroit is a huge hockey town but in reality, football is still bigger in Detroit. In Montreal and Toronto, hockey is all they really have and it's basically Canada's national pastime. Montreal has more Stanley Cup's than any team, and the hockey hall of fame is in Toronto. Agree?
